It has been an honor to serve with you these many years as Tresurer. I believe you represent all the best of what the American Legion stands for and when I think of the good things the Legion does, I think of you often.
Looking forward to our continued relationship as we enter 2011 and beyond.

Frank and I truly enjoyed sharing your very special evening with you. It is always great to see our Illinois Legion family again. The planning committee truly out did themselves with your evening.
We wish you a very happy retirement and hope that we will see you again very soon. Thank you for all your years of service to our Veterans and our Legion family.

Comments: PNC Geiger, It is with much regret Chris and I will be unable to attend your testimonial. Although we never had the opportunity to visit in length I feel you are a true friend. Your leadership and guidenance has touched so many and will be forever embedded in the future leaders of our great organization. Enjoy your day.
With deep respect, Marland & Chris Ronning

Comments: John: Having you here in The Department of Illinois often causes us to take your position in The American Legion for granted. We easily forget the mentoring, the support and sound advise that you provided to us over the span of your Legion Career. But as I read over the messages sent to you it reminds us about how many Legion members lives you have touched. A number of years ago you would ask me “Where’s Your Camera” and told me “Keep Working”. I did and the Legion provided me with many opportunities to serve. I want to again thank you for your encouragement and support for my appointment as National Historian (2008-09). So, congratulations on your “Day”. Pam and I wish you good health and many more years of service to the veteran community. Still Serving America Chuck Zelinsky Past National Historian Department of Illinois

Comments: John, we were young in 1060 and we were and still are committed to the American Legion. this picture is in my office and I see it every day; reminding me of you and your successes. BUT you were upstaged that night by Kane County Chief Judge, Charles Siedel (standing next to you in the picture)who was the emcee. Your comment was after the Judge, "Thank you, but there is nothing left to say." Here's to many. many more successes.
